Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze has been linked with a move to Premier League side Liverpool over the last few weeks and today he responded to the reports in an interview with Sky Germany.

There has been talk of Liverpool making a bid of around £31milllion for the World Cup winner, although none of the speculation has been from hugely reliable sources.

However, comments made by the 23-year-old today seemed to suggest that there might be something in the reports as he hinted that Liverpool had indeed been in contact with his representatives over a possible transfer.

When asked “Have you been made a proposal from Jurgen [Klopp]?” by the reporter, Gotze replied: “You should ask Jurgen.”

Gotze has not played as often as he’d like for Bayern this season after he was forced to miss a large part of the campaign with a hamstring injury and reports in Germany suggest that the club are willing to let him leave as they don’t plan to extend his current deal, which expires in 2017.
