Southampton, Tottenham and West Ham are closely monitoring the progress of FC Augsburg midfielder Dominik Kohr.
A number of other Bundesliga clubs are also thought to be keen on the impressive midfielder, as reported in The Mirror.
The 22-year-old German youth international has been at Augsburg since 2014 and has featured in 50 Bundesliga games in that time. He has scored just once in his 50 appearances, but it is his defensive abilities that are attracting suitors.
Kohr is a holding midfielder and with Alex Song’s future still undecided, it would make sense for the Hammers to be exploring alternatives to the Barcelona man in case he can’t, or decide not to, make his move to West Ham a permanent one.
Tottenham have been linked with numerous defensive midfielders and Kohr becomes the next one touted with a move to north London.
Another, Victor Wanyama, could well leave Southampton in the summer and Kohr could be the ideal replacement.
The German youngster has previously featured for Bayer Leverkusen but really caught the public’s eye at Augsburg where he proved pivotal after becoming a first-team regular.
